    New pond help

Hi all, first post so be gentle please. Ok I’m planning my first build With very little plumbing skills so just need a heads up on a couple of things. Due to restricted space and the wife, the internal pond size will be around 9x6x4Ft (around 13-1400 gallons), filtration space which would border the side of pond around 6x4ft. It will be gravity fed with a bottom drain, I’m leaning towards a 3” rather than 4” with the volume I’ll need and this should save me from having to flush out regularly (interested to hear opinions on this).
Having looked at various filter systems, most come with a 4” inlet , if I were to put on a 3” converter would this effect the velocity through the 3” line?
The easypod I know is set up for 3” but not sure it’s up to the job once I’ve got around 8 hungry koi (or maybe it is?) The Nexus 220 I think is too big for my space at a narrow 4ft, I like the look of the proficlear premium compact which would fit well even with additional pipe work and pumps etc...any views on this welcome. sorry I’ve thrown some random stuff out there, I’m sure I’ll have loads more, thanks.

Proficlear all the way out of these 2 choices, especially with 8 koi in that volume of water you will need something descent in my opinion

Welcome to the forum by the way

Thanks dbs, am I I going the correct route with a 3”, the proficlear come with a 4” input so I’d need a 3” converter, this won’t effect the the flow velocity will it, which is what I’m after from the 3” line.
