Beads to Micro K1
Just got myself a second-hand bead filter, I want to convert to micro k1, it's just a case of replacing the beads, nothing else to do?

Just curious if you have the beads why not use them? I have always found beads are great.

It wont polish the water as well as beads, but your pump wont have to work anywhere near as hard to get through the Micro K1.Beads have a tendency to track water ,creating pockets of bacteria .Good husbandry will combat this though

Pump not working as hard is another plus.

I'm thinking of swapping the beads in my Aquadynne 4.4 to K1 Micro so i can run a more energy efficient pump, currently running an Artesian pump which is so heavy on electricity usage, I have a drum filter so hoping fines returning to the pond after swapping the beads to K1 micro won't be an issue.
