The API kits are good value for money as contain lots of reagent and work well. You need to buy the KH kit as a separate item tho unfortunately.
Lots of people also rate the Colombo kit.
pH probes are nice, but can be a pain to calibrate, you need special solutions for that, and the probes don’t last forever so are best seen as a semi-consumable item.2016 new 6000 gallon pond

There is a tendency among us Japanese hobbyists to look down on those who rely on such test kits as if they were tropical fish keepers.
Those who use their own experience to obtain and maintain better water quality tend to be more highly regarded. (*´д`*)ハァハァ;

Wow ain’t you just ray of sunshine, quite frankly mate, your opinion means is nothing, I haven’t used a test kit in over a year on my pond and my marine tank even longer, yet all is well. I’m sure any noobs to the hobby on here looking for advise will come running in your direction because you clearly must be the font of all knowledge, anyway nice way to disrespect forum members end of conversation with you my friend.

In the UK we very much look down on people who do not test their water regularly and subsequently lose fish to pH crashes, ammonia/nitrite spikes or chlorine passing a dechlorinator.
There are people who prefer to sail by the seat of their pants and only act when fish are clearly unwell. There are also people who think they are so knowledgable and things are so stable in their pond that there is no need. However these people do get caught out. The good thing about members of a forum like this is that there is really nobody who fails to monitor their water quality through ignorance. If you choose not to, then it’s up to you, and I promise to still try and help you if you have problems even if you caused them yourself by neglect2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
