I've used , in no particular order, Queni koi, Aurora Koi, kitsu koi, Cuttlebrook koi Farm, Coastal Koi, Koi water Garden, koi logic and Koi Zone.

I've also spent a good deal of time browsing on exclusively koi via eBay and also Gatwick koi, but never actually ordered... Yet.

I'd say all of the above have been great, Aurora in particular as Gaz will go the extra mile to ensure you get what you need for a good price and quickly.

The quality of fish from Cuttlebrook exceeded my expectations. I was thinking, they are British bred so probably won't be great, but the 2 sankes I got from them are stunners, one in particular would probably do alright in a competition, were it not for the koi pox.

The only negative experience I've had was from Kitsu. I'd ordered a stunning kin Matsuba from them. Waited and waited and waited. Finally chased them up and they told me the fish had already been sold. I was p'd off, one for losing out on such a great fish and secondly as I had to chase them up and they weren't that apologetic. But I suspect it was just becaus ethey were super busy and slow to mark stuff as sold on the website.

I'd also be wary about Koi Logic's website saying they have something in stock. Their website is usually (and has been for a few years) totally inaccurate in terms of saying they have something in stock when they don't. They are local to me so I now call them first to check they have what I want, to save me a wasted journey.

I'm really not the best person to be answering this question as there are some really knowledgeable people on here. As far as I know Israeli koi are exactly the same as Japanese koi but the breeders aren't as experienced and arguably the bloodlines of the parent fish aren't as 'pure'. However, I think most people would agree that Israeli koi are getting much better these days and as I said before, much better value if your not buying the highest quality. There's an aquatic shop near me that are selling 15cm Japanese koi for £125 each and 30cm for £450. If they were Israeli, the exact same fish would be £25 & £50.

Ordered off Queni, absolute koi. Been to Koi water barn, Exclusively Koi, Select koi sales and Koi Logic. Quite friendly with the guys in koi logic and always been looked after. They recently got in some lovely Ki matsuba in koi logic, I saw them yesterday and was blown away to be honest. Never really been interested in them but they looked great! All the mentioned places have been great to me to be honest.

I only had one negative place and this was Japan koi import. Have only been there once and I started to say to the guy I had been having issues but had got over them, and before he even let me finish he was telling me everything I own is crap basically and trying to tell me how amazing EA pumps are and how I should get them as he's tested them etc. I didn't even get to finish my sentence without being punished for about 5 minutes, he would ask a question then before I could even answer he was already telling me all the issues I have! I wouldn't mind, but he told me the reason for my issues was about 3 different things then told me the filter has no bio then no mechanical which I said its got both but fell on deaf ears. Luckily, someone else came in and I escaped quickly!

Can I throw in another tangent here? In my mind, a good dealer is generally a good dealer who is also good at developing and finishing. RYUKI NARITA is at the top of his game. I know many of the pioneers who are the top dealers in your country and I respect them for introducing KOI, but I have never seen them or the next generation of dealers who are now trying, let alone achieving what I think they are capable of. I have never seen any of them, or the current generation, attempt to do so. (・д・ ` ) (・д・ ` )

I think ive bought from everybody . Ive always found the quality excellent from Kev at Exclusively, Park farm fisheries the same. Gaz at Aurora has some lovely fish and always goes the extra mile, highly recommended. Warwickshire Koi is relatively new but looks a superb outfit, and Richard like Gaz understands customer service.
I think my favorite day out is the Oaks Koi farm, nr Kirkham, Preston. Paul will look after you (and like Gaz the kettle goes on!) and his site is just amazing, he's been finishing his website for years, so its hard to see what he's got, but its like an Aladdin's cave of polytunnels and very large tanks full of Koi in a beautiful location. Just be aware there's a guard dog who may lick you to death. Ive got 2 more to collect at the beginning of May, counting down the days .
I heard an interesting stat the other day cant remember where, but its something like a very small percentage of sales in the UK relating to ponds are at the higher end with 'proper' dealers like 2% or something, its a massive growing market that's booming. Come on Gaz, time for that smallholding/stroke Koi farm, escape the real world!

Agree think it's a snobby thing even though I buy Japanese being they are bred in UK but Jap parents.

Prices are going way up and some in my opinion are ridiculously expensive but some pay it but I know I wont.
The most I have spent on a koi is £70 at Koimasters.

From what I’m lead to believe the problem with mixing Israeli & Japanese Koi is to do with KHV virus . Israeli Koi are inoculated against KHV which is fine but they can still be a carrier and pass it it on to your Japanese Koi , but I’m no expert. I’ll also put my foot forward for Aurora Koi had some lovely fish off Gaz plus other supply’s Top Bloke , Top service but be aware of Norton he bites lol

Just to add, today I had a FaceTime appointment with Adam & Amanda Byer and I cannot emphasise how great they are to deal with. I have missed out on pretty much every fish release they have done so emailed about if it was possible to have some of the biggest Jumbo Tosai bowled up and a picture to pick from.
Adam emailed back and scheduled an appointment where he and Amanda facetimed me and then Amanda picked out and bowled up the koi live on the phone for me and I picked some out. Adam came back and gave me his feedback about the fish and talked in great detail about them. They were extremely friendly and told me to pop in anytime I'm in the area to see the set up etc which I look forward to doing. So for me they get top marks as they really did go above and beyond for two Tosai which in the greater scheme of things is probably not a lot in terms of koi sales and I am really grateful they did!

hi samp, i had a similar experience with adam and amanda where adam advised on salting the grow on tank ,amanda phoned 0n 4 occasions to help me choose which fish i wanted sending pictures of all the fish individually and the types, also phoning when the fish had left and again to make sure they had arrived, again in the grand scheme of things not a lot of money in the koi world but great before and aftercare where the koi are paramount. cant praise them highly enough
