Metre square of butyl pond liner spread over a large pan net lowered down over a bottom drain works well.

If that's the case, I think I've got 2 or 3 110mm to 4" solvent weld reducers if he wants one?

    Letimgo,

I've got a couple of odd sized reducers which might be what you need. I'm not going to be using them so if you want to give me some diameter measurements I'll have a look and you can have one.

PM me if you are interested OK.

I was given it as a tip and it works, fitted a MIDI Sieve using this method as the 4” Valterra slide valves could not hold back the pressure. A bit of water gets past, but nothing that you can’t work with. When building we couldn’t get a 4” ball valve in.

My slide valve leaks water but if I ever remove filtration I just Un ship the pioework near the filter , fit a pipe bung in the pipework , get everything in place , remove the bung and fit the filter. Bungs are only a fiver. I use a bung in the drum inlet if I want to do anything.

I noticed the 1.5" slide on the inlet of my Eazy Pod didn't stop the water if I closed it and forgot to turn off the pump. It is pump fed not gravity fed, but the slide valve would hold the water in the Eazy Pod OK when the pump was off.

Thank you very much. No rubber boots required!

I managed to bend a little of my pressure pipe using the heat gun method. It takes a far bit of heating on the 4", but it does work. Be careful though, I found that sometimes if you overheat the pipe without realising, it can go very floppy! I suspect the 110mm waste in the picture is much easier as the pipe thickness is that much less.

I would agree with others to keep rubber boots after valves if you can. I do however have some 90 bends in rubber before the valves in my filter pit to deal with some flexibility that I needed. These are however only used on my skimmer 4" pipes, so they are easily closed off with a stand pipe if needed.

Last PM was 8th Jan mate when you said you'd take a look at regs if and when you get time.

OK thanks that was the last one. Just had a few issues but found various sections on the current test certificate that could be what you need so will see if I can find some older previous editions of the regs to check it's the same.
