Yeah I have already seen this definitely worth a watch, I have been there a few times before covid the facility’s are exceptional.
(They are only 15 minutes from my house so I’m pretty fortunate)
Mark and Lisa also very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
I do feel that some miss out on stunning affordable fish as they believe them to be inferior to Japanese bred examples.
I’m looking forward to seeing the future Showa

Some belters there Personally I don't care where a Koi comes from, If I like it then I like it, that simple. Would be nice to raise a few fry from there, you might end up with a cracker or two.

I once had a conversation with a Japanese breeder about breeders outside Japan. Whether you are a professional breeder or an amateur hobbyist, the only difference is whether you culling repeatedly or leave them alone. If there is a scene in the video that catches their attention, whether it be OCHIBA or any other species of fry, they will want to cull it five or ten times if they get the chance. If they don't cull, they can't stand still. This habit is the only and almost the only factor in the development of KOI, and you can't change other people's will to do it or not.
