I block the inlet pipe to the Nexus with a laminated card, let the Nexus level drop, then remove the card, works for me, I get a partial purge every clean, find I get very little now when purged.

Draco will trigger of course but doesnt really matter. If ive been running the pump slower for whatever reason surprising how much crap comes out.

Only thing to watch for with the Draco triggering is that the safety cutout will kick in after 4 minutes. Its easy to miss and obviously leads to all kinds of trouble. Also I have found they can be a bit temperamental to reset after the safety cutout has kicked in.

    Therefore I would suggest:

Press button for a clean cycle on Draco.
When its finished cleaning turn it off with red button.
    Close slide valve to Nexus.
When Nexus water level is below the bottom of the drum re-open the slide valve to purge bottom drain.
When water level is nearly back to the top release the red button to turn Draco back on and it will clean again, and hopefully water level is high enough for it to finish cleaning cycle before the safety cut-out kicks in.

Secret of the reset is turn it off at the mains and watch for all the lights to go out, it won’t reset with a simple on off, you have to give it a few seconds for the lights to extinguish..
