Just picked up one of the drum filters from Uk filters who advertise on ebay and Gumtree. Not sure when I'm going to get round to installing it but I'm hoping it'll be either this weekend or next. The build quality looks very very good and I can't wait to fire it up.

    Hi Steve,
Well done on your new purchase. I was so close to buying one of these and thought about it for ages. In the end I bought a 'nearly new' Oase which is sitting in my garage ready to be installed. Still not sure I made the right decision but time will tell. Amazing the amount of additional plumbing required to replace a multi bay filter to a drum. Just spent £100's on pipe and fittings!
Good luck with your installation. Please report back.

When you break them down there's actually not much to drums to justify their high price. I paid less than the advertised ebay and gumtree price so well worth the gamble compared with a second hand one. Its replacing a cetus sieve and I'm removing my Richdon koi bead and replacing it with a wheelie bin moving bed so hopefully not too much pipework (Famous last words!)

Will a wheelbin be OK leaching wise my understanding was that bins these days are highly recycled plastics so who knows what's in them. Could be wrong normally am like

Finally installed it today and my wheelie bin full of k1

I've uploaded a video of it washing to YouTube, hopefully show up below. My water was clear before because of the seive/bead so I don't imagine it'll be doing a lot of washes this time of year.
