Does New Pond + Glass Windows = Odd behaviour :)

    Morning All

Couple of my observations of my own pond in this first week

My fish have been in the new pond just over a week now, they all seem to have settled in well, but the windows are fascinating... the Koi seem to be magnetised towards them, sometimes they all try to appear at once and sort of battle to be in the frame and occasionally looks like they scare themselves when they get too close and swerve away...

Hanging about in front of the window too, appear to be wanting food but then never come up to eat any (small amount of wheatgerm being put in)

As many of my fish have been in a murky natural pond, then moved to a paddling pool for 3 months, I guess they just get used to it, and me not having seen them so clearly before am noticing different stuff

Water parameters are relatively okay for a new pond (One existing Mature Bio + One new large bio that is beginning to change colour already) - only concern is Ammonia at 0.143 but slowly dropping

What's your thoughts and experiences ??

I reckon they are seeing you through the glass and they are wondering if you are god!

Mine do the same at the window. My border collie often lays in front of the window watching the fish and they all come to look at her.

hahahaaaaa well it is funny, odd and scary, I need to stop watching them as I keep seeing things that set off my 'should they be doing that' reflex... like sinking

Oooohhh yes, my cat walked past yesterday, ate a piece of wheatgerm that was on the floor and as she walked away they followed her across the glass, must of been 10 of them there

What I didn't say earlier is around sunset (my pond faces exactly the compass points N S E W) they behaved really strange, sort of excited by the window. I put a GoPro in the pond facing the window to see what they see and about 45 minutes before sunset the glass turned into a mirror so they saw another pond with fish, unfortunately I deleted the file( wish I hadn't) but something to look out for. They never very excited pushing right against the glass
