Duratech ashp
Here goes I have just put my ashp back on my set up.The thing I知 wanting to control the unit for my filter shed and instead of paying 195」 for another controller (the ashp is a duratech plus 10). I知 sure I read a post saying you could remove the controller from the pump and relocate it.If anyone has done this any advice would be much appreciated.

I think you can buy a remote controller (by remote they mean on the end of a long wire, not wireless). Those controllers are designed to be fitted in addition to the one that comes on the heat pump.
They are not cheap though sadly or I would consider fitting one to mine so I can mess with it from my patio.

I’ve had my dura+ since 2012, and being wheelchair bound, I couldn’t easily get to the controls. I initially put the controller on the wall inside the house, with the heatpump 12 metres away . I extended the cable using basic 3 core cable using the connectors from a previously replaced faulty unit. Nothing fancy, just simple screw terminal connectors, it worked perfectly.
I still have it extended, but now much closer to the hp, making it easier to fine tune the bypass etc, whilst still being accessible to me.

Hi feline
Thanks for the link but that’s what I was looking at myself. I must say a big thank you for taking the time out to reply to my post though and yes I totally agree about the cost of the unit seems a little steep to me. I’m going to remove the controller from the pump and wire it up in filter room I’ll let you know how things pan out

Hi feline
I haven’t done it yet,but if you take a look at the link you sent me you’ll see the controller is separate so I presume I can remove the controller and leave the cover on the heat pump
Im going to have a good look at the weekend

Thanks for trying to help Gazkoi,I got home from work at 1-30 today and its all back up running again controlling unit is in the filter shed working just fine only thing is you have to remove the complete unit from the heat pump so going to find a box to finish the job properly.
