This (brick reinforcement mesh) plus Mickey pins, allows for the fixing of the liner and then something for the mortar to bind too for the coping stones.

Seen so many box welded liners leak and they have all switched to firestone liners and folded it themselves. it’s very difficult but you can get a very neat job
My brother has had two welded liners fail
We are talking a completely block build pond, concrete base and celotex lined

Who is making these box welded liners? Sounds like they're incorrectly measured/fitted.
What are your dimensions? Budget tight?

Correctly measured even had the felt between the the liner and celotex
My brother is proper anal and everything was spotless , I had a boxer liner in my quarantine it didn’t leak for the five years it was running
It’s now a raised flower bed 😂
Just giving my experiences with box welded liners
I have friends with firestone liners that have been slung in the ground and are twenty years old

Personally if you have a rigid 'box', I'd go with fibreglass, especially if you're already going with celotex. Celotex isn't really designed for pressure on to it like a liner would do.
What's your dimensions?

Agreed Go with the fibreglass
I’ve been in this hobby a while and used to frequent forums , back in the day everyone was getting these box weld liners and the advice was always yeah there great etc
So if I can save one poor sod all the grief I’m happy😂
I used polystyrene under my Firestone
Still going strong , before celotex was invented😂

No, it was for the chat that Steve was saying. Have you already laid this block now?
Personally those dimensions will give a deep and dark pond. My first was pretty much that, 7' l X 4' w X 6' d.
It was dark and unbalanced with very skitty koi.

Space is tight, but I’ll do my best to grab a few inches if I can. Slabs going in Wednesday

No way of going over 5’ that’s going to be the max could get to 7’ in length at a push but that’s the very max, just wish I had more space buddy..

The length isn't going to change much, which side is south on it?

Will sunlight come in ok from the south end, or is there a fence/wall where the filter house is?
