Flukes
Used a Prazi treatment and then a flubensol treatment and still have the buggers
Can only find skin flukes on scrapes , so hopefully no eggs to time my treatments
Starting to get injuries now and it’s driving me insane paying for treatments that appear useless And having to treat injuries while I wait on an outcome between doses
I’ve read others are struggling with flukes etc
I currently have around 0.3 salt in the water
All readings are fine

It's absolutely shocking how many people have these resistent skin flukes. Do you have any idea how they may have gotten into your pond - new fish, new plants?
Adding salt won't make any difference if they are resistant. I went up to 0.9% with Flukesolve - still failed. Have you isolated a drum is you have one, kept UV off for whole treatment regime and raised pond level during treatment? If yes, then consider Lernex Pro (not standard Lernex) with CT dosed 12 hours beforehand if there is significant mucus on the fish. Pro is harsh but finally worked for me. Be prepared for a breakout of other parasites (eg Costia) following the Flukes.
Have you been able to determine if Skin Flukes are your only parasite currently?

Yes drum bypassed, pond filled to the max
The salt was used as a preventative but that’s another story
It’s so frustrating might as well just give them paracetamol
The salts helping with the wounds though after topically treating
I’m reading of others bouncing between treatments etc
Absolute waste of time so far

With the salt and no excess mucous don’t want to add CT
Looks like another week and then spin the wheel again

I was told to Salt to 0.9% by Fiona McDonald, creator of Flukesolve, to enhance its effect.
Lernex Pro is the heaviest "off the shelf" hammer you can throw at resistant flukes.

If you get really desperate then Supaverm is effective, but harsh on the fish and is prescription only (sheep drench) so you will need to speak to your local farm vet to get it or a prescription for it.

Hi, I am about to start treating for flukes myself after finally finding something on a scrape today. Thought I'd managed to avoid all these problems everyone's been having with resistant flukes but here we are. Please could you explain this to me about another parasite following?

A lot of us had a follow up of a parasite.
Probably caused by stressing of the fish.
When treating for flukes. I myself and a few on here had costia. Last year my follow up was white spot. Some had tritch.
So for at least a month watch your fish like a hawk. My sign of follow up was 3 fish being tail up. So scraped and had costia.
And it was a nightmare getting rid of that.
So once you finish treating and rescrape them. Even if clear. On scrape. Keep a good eye on them. For a follow up.

Fish seem a lot better today , don’t get me wrong only been watching them for the past hour
I will treat again with the same potion I used last after scraping even if I find none
Don’t want any survivors building immunity
I hope I’ve been lucky and don’t have to treat with something else
Fingers crossed

Koi doc pro f seems to have done the trick
One dose was probably ok but I dosed again six days later just in case I missed something

Let's hope your pond is all clear now.
I found gill flukes a couple of days back. Going to start another course of treatment today, once the courier has delivered.

A newby question: if you have managed to get rid of the flukes completely, and no new additions to the pond what would make them come back, is it dormant eggs or other factors

Quite a few really. Hiding under mucus.
On a fish that has not been scraped.
Eggs not been killed off.
In plants.
Above waterline. Birds carrying. Nets. New fish.
You have to get everywhere with the treatment.
That's my take on it. On other parasites
Stress. Bad water. Lots of crap in pond.

Same mate. Not far of £200.00 on treatments. And nuking the pond. Bloody
Expensive this parasites lark. Especially if you dont get rid in one hit. I always
Now have. A fluke . Fmg. And pp on my shelf. And now virkon aquatics. Tablets.
I will be using the virkon next spring and see if that makes a difference. During
Acrimonious ally time. For getting parasites. See if it makes a difference.
Experiment. Type of thing.
