Water clarity
Just looking for abit of advice, I’m running a nexus 220 with 80 litres k1 and 18.5 litres micro k1 on a 10k litres pond through a new e.a 55wt uv, my clarity is terrible really poor iv tried running the pump return at 6.5k hr 8khr and 9k hr, it’s been running a month now and still looks really cloudy

Make sure the little prongs on the UV bulb are pushed / connected right home, fiddley little devils and might not
be connected right in.

Hi,
Usually easier to check if the UV is working properly at night as you will see the glow.
Fkow rate through the IV is important to ensure appropriate contact time with the UV and water. This weather won’t be helping sunny and then heavy train will impact clarity.
I remember mine taking an age to clear when I first set my show pond up (4100 gallon).
Please remember Koi actually prefer murky water - it is us who prefer clear. Clear does not necessarily mean healthy though.
If you continue struggling to achieve clearer water try replacing the bulb - even if new..
Cheers

For your water clarity if you say that dropping the flow rate didn't help , have you tried cleaning it more often or maybe a filter sock on the outlet or do what Goonerharwood has done and fit a plate with what looks like tank connectors on and fit filter socks to those. If I can think of the thtead name I'll put a link to it for you.
Stuffyrat did something similar with his nexus very recently.

I had very similar problems even after changing my bulb, I took a punt thinking it was the amount of sun/heat we have had lately as mine is in full sun most of the day, so I changed my UV from 55 to 110 (which I was going to need for my pond upgrade soon anyway), and indeed it cleared it up within a couple of weeks, it is now crystal clear, not a cheap punt if it doesn't work

I like reading success stories like that dbs
Glad it worked out well for you
I think I might try connecting up the UVC that's built into my filter on the skimmer line now and see if that helps.
