that band is the high stress zone of the water column, temperature fluctuates there, the UV is super strong there, and is soon filtered out, water level can change and so on.

will be less apparent in very shaded ponds

Here is the waterslide/ toilet discharge lol
We're mixing concrete tomorrow so will lower the water a little and carefully get that pipe cemented in place.........can't get the sock in completely as the cement retainer is in the way

million tape around the joints should hold out any fluids, its super strong and unlike duck tape leaves no sticky mess behind

Those socks are just the bigger versions of what I have but for some reason have a semi circular support thing on them.

Fernco? are a good option and they do more variation in sizes but are difficult to source in the UK as I think they are an American brand? They were the ones I used when I was fitting 3" pressure pipe into 3" slide valves and didn't want to solvent weld the pipes etc. They do a pipe to socket version which is basically a 3" to 3.5" reducer. Nice fit compared to a more commonly available 3" to 4" reducer that is a good fit for 3" pressure pipe into 3" ball valves.
When I first emailed Tony after it arrived he said the same as you to use rubber boots but unfortunately I have not been able to source them here in Phuket. I think the grinded down connections along with the 3 inch flexible pipe that Tony sent with the RDF will hopefully work just fineAny biologists out there?Any biologists out there?Any biologists out there?

I got them from Amazon in the UK I think

Like I mentioned earlier they fit on a Thai 6 inch straight coupling perfectly, so saying that they probably won't fit on a UK or US coupling

If my geography is correct Thailand is closer to the USA the the UK is? If so you might be able to order direct from Fernco? I got mine from eBay via an American company but had to pay p&p which most things I buy from eBay I get free delivery.

I thought the last couple of 100s and 400s were quite expensive probably because they were sold via fish retailers not other retailers so had to pay the usual koi tax

That blue pipe looks like water hose or turbo hose for performance engines but that is usually a silicon type thing where as I'm guessing the stuff you have is a hard plastic like waste or pressure pipe etc?

Shame it's the wrong version of Ammonia as it could have saved you a load of money in filter start but would play havoc with your drum cleaning cycles lol
