    Bakki Shower & dodgy neighbours

    Hi All,

Really want a Bakki Shower, but neighbours already complained about my drum going off Bakki Shower & dodgy neighbours changed that to a solenoid valve so all good now.

I’d just put one on, but missus said I’ve got to think of the neighbours Bakki Shower & dodgy neighbours

Is there any way I can quiet one down somehow?

Cant have it in my filter house as it’s level with the raised pond (Gravity fed)

Any other form of filtration that does a similar job?

A Bakki shower doesn't have to be by the pond. Which means it can be squirrelled away from the pesky natives next-door.

You need airflow so you could cover in a container but you'd need some airflow through the container.

thought about this myself as neigbours would probably moan in the summer.
so thought about cladding round it but leaving a ventilaton space around the outside...
if made tall enough would draw air through it like a chinmey

The stainless bakki 4 tier you can get a bracket set for them.
i have twin wall back and front and triple on the side it does make it a lot quieter.
i normally have this just for winter to keep the heat in.
i have a lot of flow through mine thought it would annoy next door, but the side its on likes the sound of the running water
thinking of adding another now it can’t be any louder, can it

You could have the return underwater, that might help a bit.

It’s not the return that makes the noise, it’s the water going through the trays.
you could turn it down slightly at night if you had a vari speed pump.

Could I put pump on timer to go off at say 22:00 till 08:00 would bacteria be ok for that time?

Ideally you want it running full time if you had a vari pump you could turn it down or you could run two pumps coming in from opposite sides one on a timer.
also mine is about a foot away from the fence not against it.
if you can have it below the fence line it should be quieter for next door, perhaps put some insulation sheet between the bakki and the fence as well.

Or plant bamboo or similar behind the shower between the fence and pond, natural sound insulation

    That’s a good idea stuffyrat.
The neighbours will be busy complaining about the bamboo growing through there garden that they won’t mention the bakki

Like carpchaser said you can do these showers with return under water. That way it will be literally silent. Or the way rich has it are prity silent to! That bottom tray with a lip really minimises the sound. I know you have to respect your neighbours, so I would difinatly still do what you want but just try make it as quiet as possible. People have water features that are probably more noisy if you spend time dimming the noise. All the best mate Bakki Shower & dodgy neighbours
