    Filtereau 20 Drum

So my Filtereau 20 drum has been running for a few weeks now, generally happy with it but was expecting a bit better clarity in all honesty.

Been really struggling with blanket wee at present, & put another dose in yesterday to get rid of the last of it.

Do you reckon that’s the problem or have people had issues with fines getting through? Maybe not sealed correctly?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Hi mate,

Most likely BW rather than fines after the drum assuming all pumped debris is after the drum.

Clay can be a good product for reducing fines, however not all are ‘drum friendly’. I recommend and sell Breeders Secret as used and recommended by Gatwick Koi as this does not clog the 30micron drum screens.

    Cheers

Which drums have a 30 micron screen? Is this not overkill?

Do you happen to know if Kasuri clay is ok in a synergy? I've only had it running 2 days and am more than happy with it as it seems to have removed everything. Was going to try some clay tomorrow but if it's known to cause issues I will reconsider.

    Hi John,

I understand some of the Oase drums have 30micron screens.

Regarding clay, it is notorious for blocking drum screens, however Breeders Secret does not and that’s the one I sell and recommend (alongside Gatwick Koi).

    Cheers

I've just had a look at that clay but am a bit concerned.

How does this effect bio activity?
