Why UV off and does it make treatment void?

So today I done the follow up treatment of FMG in my pond around midday, and I just this minute realised I left the UV's on so have now switched them off. Does this mean the treatment is now null and void and I will have to wait till Monday to re treat?
Why does the UV have to go off out of curiosity? I couldn't find anything on a google search just now.

Ultraviolet (UV) light destroys organic chemicals, which is why they have become widespread as filters. Due to this impressive ability to sterilise water by breaking down organic chemicals, if left on during a course of treatment, the treatment will be destroyed in the same way before it has had time to take effect. Some treatments may even be made toxic by the action of UV light. Switching off the UV during treatment is a sensible precaution. As another general rule, leave UV filters off for at least 7 days (the longer the better, up to 10 days if possible) to give the treatment the best chance of doing its job.
As with active filter media (see point 2 above), protein skimmers may also remove the active ingredient of a treatment before the treatment has had time to work. To prevent this loss of the medicine, turn off the protein skimmer off for at least two hours after medicating. However, proceed with caution: remember that in a marine aquarium, skimmers provide an essential source of aeration to maintain high levels of dissolved oxygen for your fish, coral s and other invertebrates. If you leave the skimmer off for an extended period, be sure to increase aeration to compensate and maintin the dissolved oxgen level in the aquarium.

Just found on the NT Labs website. So I guess I have to wait and re treat now

Yes that about covers it with turning off UVCs and Protein Skimmers etc and with some treatments you need to add extra aeration. Need to read the instructions very carefully sometimes.

Some people even bypass their drum filters while adding certain treatments so maybe a bit more home work is required unless someone else can give you a definite answer

I've forgotten to turn UV off before.
Also forgotten to turn it back on after.

    It's a right pain!

Drum filters are great if you like to see £50 worth of fluke solve disappear down the drain!

I always bypass the 400 micron filter sock when I put Klay or anything that is powder based in the pond and now will have to bypass the Tornado 2 Protein skimmer as well

I know I done it the first week, then did it all yesterday and thought all was good, then as it got dark and I saw the UV's glowing I thought oh shit! Will have to re treat Sunday I guess!
