Hi RS
I was looking to get a jeboa last week .
so my current pump is 90-95 w , you reckon I can turn up the power if required to about 75% and will run at roughly the same cost .

Evening all
well finally decided on a Jebao 20000 ltr pump , arrived today , pretty quick as only ordered thursday .
wish I had opted for the Ea20000 ,
tried the Jeboa and although I do get a slight whiring of the motor , I get a message ER-04 which upon googling (internet down most day and intermittent at that) tells me the ‘impeller stops running’ , a big wow after 30 seconds , if that .

I think (think) that pump has a protection to prevent motor burnout. (I believe its the same as the Pond Xpert pumps)
It stops the motor if the pump runs dry.
Is your pump primed?
If its mounted dry and above the water line. Or if the pipe to it rises above the water line, it won`t self prime.
Sorry if I`m stating the obvious or something not relevant, but thought it was worth mentioning just in case.

Thanks Rich
both pipes and pump were above the water line as I was just testing before putting in pond sitting area.
i had a reply from seller asking if it was blocked , I replied it didn’t have time to get water in let alone anything big enough to block it.

Thanks Rich
seems that could be it although as the pump can be used in or out of water i didn’t think to put it in water first .
as regard replacement , I asked for replacement but seller insisted upon full refund on return of damaged pump, so on lookout for new one again .

Are you sure the pump is no good. Have you tried putting the pump in the pond and see it it moves water?
If the pump is above the water line, or any part of the pipe is above the water line (Pump inlet pipe) the pump cannot prime (fill with water) and it won`t work.
If you just place the pump on the side of the pond and drop the inlet pipe into the pond, it can`t work.

If you can`t take your pipe through the pond wall, mos people set it up like this.

If you don`t want the pump in the pond and absolutely have to route your pipe above the water line, you will need to fit a non return valve between the drain and the pump. You will have to prime the pump yourself (pour water down the filter inlet so it backfills to the pump, or more precisely the non return valve)
The non return valve shuld then keep the pump primed when its turned off for maintenance.

Hi rich
ive no problem with the pump in the pond, my old one is still in there and in use.
i did try the new one at the bottom but there is no pressure to pump the water , the impeller does not rotate and I cannot increase the pressure from the transformer as it doesn’t go up once pressed. There is a slight whirring noice from the pump but no movement .
appreciate your trying to help .

Ahh ok.
Just seemed odd that you had similar problems with 2 pumps (unless I misunderstood)
Hope you get it sorted.

Hi all, I'm also looking at a retrofit drain. Pond us 5000l running 8000lph hoselock pump to pressure filter then bakki filter. Pressure seems to have dropped so thinking larger pump anyway but what would you recommend size wize? Pump is about 10 feet away from filter. Thanks
