Orange and Red Gin Rin Chagoi from Israel. True Chagoi or crossbred with Benigoi?

This year I have seen two amazing Gin Rin Chagoi with seperate importers, both have been from Israel. One looked red and one more orange. Anyone know if they are 100% Chagoi or crossbred with Benigoi? They look too good to be true.

2660 Gallons. 4" Bottom Drain and Skimmer. Draco Solum 16 Drum. Anoxic Filtration. Air lift returns.

It’s a chocolate chagoi bud, if I had to guess somewhere down the line it’s bred with a benigoi or an orenji ogon. I’m not sure but it’s a nice fish

Both have been at dealers in Lancashire. Must have come in from the same buying trip. I've emailed the one of them that is still for sale.

I often wonder the same, this might be a stupid question but beni kikokuryu definitely aren’t kikokuryu and kikokuryu breeding together. What do they use to breed them other than a kikokuryu?

Yeah, true. It normally wouldn't make any difference to me. If I like the fish, thats all that matters. However, in this case, if I buy a Chag I want it to behave like a Chag. Its a bit of a lottery if its 50/50 Chag Benigoi.

I’d say look at the price and see whether you’d pay the same for a benigoi

Taking this a bit further, is this really a chag? I've never seen a white one before.

The Kikokuryu is developed from crossing Doitsu platinum Ogon with Kumonryu I believe. Orange and Red Gin Rin Chagoi from Israel. True Chagoi or crossbred with Benigoi?

I did think that as I have 6/7 of them and they’ve grown like it’s nothing. What would a beni kikokuryu be?

Interesting this one as I believed Chagoi just translated to brown fish..

I personally would not classify any of the fish on this thread as Chagoi Orange and Red Gin Rin Chagoi from Israel. True Chagoi or crossbred with Benigoi?

Great looking fish though but likely not grow like a Chagoi imo

This cropped up in conversation a couple of weeks ago.
all my koi are from Japan though I have had koi from cuttlebrook koi farm.
would you all mix koi from different countries. They used to say that because all Israelis koi are vaccinated against KHV the could infect a Japanese’s koi the hasn’t been.
im not sure if it was proven either way but I would personally never take the risk, what are others take on this?
