I got my first 2 koi from Kevin, then another one later from him so I have a few from each I have been waiting for the Tosai in koi logic since my pond was filled but obviously given whats going on it'll be June before we can go and see them all once they have all arrived!

Here's one for you, currently for sale from Koi & Water Gardens.
If I didn't already have a nice Kirin, I'd buy this one. Worth every penny in my mind:

I do remember reading about you liking these ages ago looks like there are two types that look very similar the beni kikokuryu with bronze markings or the metallic doitsu ochiba with bronze markings. Il attach a pic of one that I think you will love but over 500 so out of my price range IMG_9985.JPG

I got one of these a few years ago but it lost its markings and is just all blue/grey now.

To be honest mate I can't tell the difference between Beni Kikokuryu or Doitsu Metallic Ochibas.
As both varieties generally come from the same breeders and seem to appear in the same batches of Tosai / Nisai etc, I reckon they come from the same parents and the breeder just adds a name tag to whatever variety it looks most like once it reaches Tosai, ie golden red is Beni Kikokuryu and Golden Brown is Ochiba!
Hopefully I'm wrong and an expert somewhere can tell me the differences.

Hate it when that happens.
Has happened to every Koi I've bought that was bred by Oofuchi.... Could be the quality of the breeding strain, or could just be my water compared to what he raises them in, but its not nice when beautiful Koi turn plain. My Lemon Hariwake was stunning bright yellow, now just white.

I’m not sure the kikokuryu look abit more ghost like over the metallic ochiba to me! I don’t know but just what I notice! Definatly a very unique koi! I love ochibas aswel it’s the orangey brown colour with the grey that does it for me! Lovely fish !

After Charco started this thread I headed over to Kevin's website to have a look.
He has an impressive Omasako Kujaku that I really liked, except I'm not looking for one.
Then I came across this 37cm Kase Showa and there's something about it I just love, can't put my finger on exactly what but if it develops like the picture in my head (this never, ever happens) then it will be stunning, so I bought it.
Kase's Showa come from breeding Dainichi with Sekiguchi Showa, but their Showa come at big premiums whereas Kase's do not, so I couldn't resist....
Definitely going to need to move a few on this year.... Gone from slightly understocked to well overstocked in no time at all!

Thats a beauty and has lots of potential in my eyes, although I aint got a clue what I'm on about haha!. I think thats why I suddenly love Showa, because when you get one and can see the colour under the white you really dont know how it will come out and can only predict but thats the fun

Nice looking fish RS hope it turns out for you everyone is getting new fish!! I need to pull my wallet out and get a couple! Trouble is I’m too picky now and everything that catches my eye is out of what I am comfortable willing to pay given I am still a novice.
Gaz has a cracking Kohaku that I have been eying up!

The kohaku is lovely.
I did notice something strange about it. The first and second step are touching each other on the right hand side in the pic, but in the photo on the certificate shown on the website there is a clean break between the 2 steps.
Could be just the angle of the picture, but it would be perfect if that gap opened back up again.
