Koi Carp Video
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and quite new to koi keeping too. I just made a video about koi on my YouTube channel, it's normally a fishing channel, but I wanted to learn more about koi so filmed the adventure too.
Here is the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuFkuxi5Edo
Any constructive criticism is welcome, the video is aimed at non koi people so that's why things are simplified. I really hope you enjoy, and maybe it passes a bit of this isolation boredom time!
Best wishes to everyone.
Carl

Thank you Charlie! The pond is 6x8ft and 4ft deep. A larger one is coming too. Won't be keeping more than 4 fish in the current pond, the tank fish are going outside soon as the pond is now empty as my little mirror carp have been rehomed.

I'll be honest here, I normally ignore new posters promoting youtube videos..... you get a lot of it on car forums with people trying to monetise a hobby but they actually know very little about the subject matter and start every sentence with "hey guys" and seem to just wave their hands about all the way through!
However, your video came up on my youtube feed, and I loved it. Brilliantly edited and enjoyable to watch. Also there was an innocence about you that I enjoyed.... the video didn't come across as you suggesting you were some kind of expert, it was good to follow your learning curve and seeing your surprised reaction to the sights you filmed, which came across as genuine.
Also noticed Mark Gardner in your credits.... he might have competition here!
Would definitely watch more Koi related videos if you make any, well done mate.

I have come across your videos in the past Carl and I haven't watched them if I am honest for no other reason that I don't watch carp/fishing related videos unless it is anglers I grew up reading about when I used to read magazines about 15 years ago, and even so its then only your Terry Hearns and Martin bowlers that I watch!
I watched this video all the way through however, and it genuinely is one of the best I have seen so far in regards to Koi, great footage and a excellent insight to the subject, well done!
How much longer do you have to wait to get Charlie home?

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
