    Pump fed moving bed

Hi all. After some advice on where to have the inlets and outlets on a pump fed moving bed filter. Also what size of inlet pipe and outlet pipe?

On my nexus its 4 inch in and 2 inch out.
But that's gravity fed with pump after the nexus 320.

On my old pond which was pump fed to 2
    Easy pods.
    I had 1 1/2 inlet
    2 inch out let.
Put ball valves before filter and after filter
So you can control flow. And isolates for maintenance. Also variable pumps you can control flow.
    Hope this helps

I think I would just be tempted to put a four inch in and out to future proof it.
just use a rubber boot on either end to sleeve it down to suit your set up.
if you have two inch pump just put a 4-2inch boot on.
if you want to change to gravity later it will be easy.

Already have a 4 inch inlet and outlet both at the bottom of filter for a gravity fed set up.

Was just wondering to turn it into pump fed does the outlet have to be up higher to dictate the height of the water in the filter or will it still be fine at the bottom?

It will need some pipe work inside to stop it from emptying if you turn the pump off but also the other end to keep the water level in the chamber.
you need to make sure the exit can cop with the flow from the pump you have.
