i thought it would be easier to show why i cannot get to the pellets inside the drum as you can see the waste chute is fully enclosed, you can also see from pic 12 with the pumps off the water level does not go high enough to flood the waste chute in order to eject the pellets down the chute..... i cannot increase the water level any higher due to the overflow on the skimmer box (i could block it off) but there is an electrical box as shown in picture 8 which i obviously cannot submerge in water.... guess i will just poke up with pellets lol.... cheers Steve.

Mate you got a whole tub of pellets in your bio wouldn't be worried about a couple in the drum

Funny how you store them there, as I store mine in the Nexus bio section.
My thinking is that the bacteria should be acclimatised to the pond temp ready for when I need to use the balls (which is now actually) in case a big temp shock kills the bacteria.... Probably rubbish but I do it anyway.

I don t bother with them anymore. I just let the pond do it's own thing.
Tested this morning all my water parameters. Bob on. That's the first time I have tested for about 3 months.
Test twice a week now. With feeding more
As in twice a day now instead of once.
And a slice of bread.
Love it now the temps are up. And covers off.
Get in there.

Hi John,
are you referring to the two nozzles furthest to the right between the two nozzles, yes looking at the picture i can see what you have seen, the screen is clean the marks you can see is on the metal bars between the mesh, its where i had poor pressure in the past and had bad dirt lines between all nozzles, this has now been rectified with a new solenoid, it does look like they all need to go over to the left a fraction looking at the picture, i am unsure if the nozzles can be moved physically i will have a look tomorrow, cheers John, all the best Steve.

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
