Saw a video of a woman, in her 30's at a guess, in hospital with the virus. On a drip and with oxygen supply. She looked rough, really ill. She's a smoker, and said if you smoke stop now or this virus could finish you, whatever your age.
It was quite harrowing. I've smoked a lot in my life and even at my age I think this could finish me if I caught it, and working in London the risk can't be ignored. Had pneumonia once before 20 years ago from normal flu and thought I might die, this Covid looks to be on a totally different level. 8% death rate in some countries, can't be ignored.
As for the stock piling... I've just finished renovating the kitchen, so not done any shopping for weeks and can't get any food. One cabbage is all they had in Asda and next available home delivery slot is with Morrisons for 11th April.

I still cant understand this fascination in toilet rolls, my mrs always keeps 3 packs at the top of the cupboard and about a month ago i was berating her for this, Oh how times have changed we will be millionaires
Only joking was watching videos of people fighting over toilet rolls and right next to them was fully stacked shelves of kitchen rolls! If you cant use paper use the shower to wipe clean not poo in its a bitch pushing it through the plughole with your mrs toothbrush
Taxi for gary! When I’m dead I hope my Mrs doesn’t sell my fishing gear for what I told her they cost!

i think a huge amount of the panic is spread by social media, i had swine flu when that was a pandemic in 2009 and there was no crazy stock piling of food then. If you look at facebook alone, in 2009 there was 150 million users, today theres 1.69 billion! If you think how rubbish is spread on there by ppl just copying what someone else posted you can see why the big supermarkets are empty, i went to co op the otherday and got everything i needed but look on facebook and there is loads of pics of empty shelves

I'm gonna head down to the co-op right now to see if I can get some food.

Probably be cheaper to buy the drugs
Just seen on Tesco website if you are isolating, as we are, and you order on line you need to put some notes in the comments section about this and they will drop stuff in carrier bags at the point you suggest and telephone you to let you know its there!

i was at work in London when mine started i remember starting to feel rough then spending an hour going to and from the toilets and when i decided enough was enough i was avoided by everyone on the train home laying across 2 seats looking like i was dying, then that tamiflu making me feel even worse, fun times

Co op was empty.... No bread, no milk, no pasta, no rice, no food other than cheese and a single box of cornflakes.
Went to the corner shop and it was exactly the same.
So I came home with nothing more than a bottle of wine, which I don't drink but it will keep the missus quiet for a couple of hours.
