I have used Quenis food be it Coppens for a number of years and never had much problems with it.

Q/k do a super fast delivery and the food is great,no dust and smells fresh so that is good for me.

The price is very good and I have tried a lot of their mixes but I found their growth very good for the price.

another one for Queni Koi, with the yearly event discount they work out very well cost wise.
i used their japan mix earlier, but switched to a 3:1 mix of ultimate koi and colour plus.
will probably add some wheatgerm once the beni has improved as i felt it a bit lacking in the japan mix.

pretty much the same as coppens, as a lot of other pellets are made by them.
though the JPD do come in better sizes with the 4mm imo....
You don't have to be a pipefitter to keep koi...
    but it helps...

I use the Nishikoi feed . Seems ok . Mid range on price and not much waste . I used medi-koi for a while , but seemed to produce more waste !

Its probably all way over-priced , though , as with most things koi related .

Its the same with pellets used in fishing - you can pay a crazy ammount for a kilo of pellets in a nice colourful bag from a tackle shop- or buy in bulk from a wholesale outlet at a fraction of the cost . Wonder if this is possible in the koi world ??

I think this is a very good topic to discuss, we hear of Coastals koi food or Queni kois etc but where do they stem from,is it just Coppens?

We all know Quenis is from Copppens but put their name on it and I cant knock it.

    So, how many others?
Not that it is a great problem but dealers that put their name on a product that isnt theirs isnt really fair in my book as the prices vary so much.

I could not agree more. IMHO decanting and relabelling other brands produce (seemingly with their consent...??) seems disingenuous to me.

Many experienced local hobbiests (and customers) believe most koi foods stem from Coppens but simply rebranding with no product change other than the label / tub seems ‘cheap’ and confusing to customers around what they are really buying... although as I am typing this I recall many other industries doing similar- electrical, champagne etc....

For the last 2 weeks I've been feeding Coppens Top Koi in the grow on vat.

With a tiny 380 litre volume It's quite a controlled environment so I can see the water yellows slightly faster than it did with Saki Growth.

But the koi enjoy it and have continued to grow, by at least 1 cm which is probably about the same I'd have expected from the Saki, only that Top Koi costs 75% less.

Top Koi will likely be the main growth food I buy going forwards, then will try OSW for non Summer Months once I've run out of Saki multi Season, Kusuri Multi Season and that rip off JPD Yamato.

Thats a right selection of food there mate.

Aquasource has done well for me and is good VFM.

I started using Probites last year and the water quality was noticeably better so that’s what they will be getting this year

As I have already said this is a very important topic for our koi.

I dont know how suppliers get away with the " patent " on the food as the seller's call it their own!!!

As do Queni label their drums their own but they dont make them.!!!

Anyway we dont want to go down the argument route so keep it to koi food, sorry.
