Thread: Dirty mains water?

The inline filter with my new tap flows at max 1.9 litres per minute.
The big blue on the pond flows at 10 litres per minute, 3 litres more than my supply can cater for!
A small 3 pod at 5 litres per minute would be ideal for drinking water, maybe washing machine and dishwasher as well, but no good for shower.
Also a big blue would be overkill for drinking water because whilst perfect and incredibly cheap to run for the pond (150,000 litres between carbon cartridge changes and 18000 litres for sediment filter), they still have to be changed every 6 months due to the risk of bacteria growth thus would work out expensive for drinking water.
I think a single 10" combined filter as Dave suggested with replaceable cartridge would probably give best bang for buck for drinking water and reasonable flow rates.

Same with my Dad, him and his workmates used to play football with blue asbestos.
They’re all dead now. Asbestosis killed them all. It wasn’t very pleasant watching the old man go downhill in the space of a few years.
Anyway, be careful.

Hi
Im in manchester where I thought North West water was one of the best and I am the same . i get on fill up on my pond for the sediment (19k) then mines the same colour as yours on the photo.
I got a deal on ebay where I bulk bought 10 and it worked out cheap.
Jim
Ps i'd love to get a filter on my kitchen tap. Can anyone recommend a small ish system for one tap.

Thanks John.
No, hiding the old fireplace and alcoves behind floor to ceiling units was too much for me - Had to get people in, they were real craftsmen, albeit pricey.
Don't think the photos do it justice tbh, it also looks a lot darker, it's more of a graphite grey and the mdf worktops are sparkly like quartz.Last edited by RS2OOO; 18-03-2020 at 01:37 PM.

I've been allowed to keep one of the 925 corner units for myself, so I'll grab a photo of all the Koi stuff in there when I get a chance
