We ripped old ceiling down then plasterboard directly to the beams.
It did have artex previously so I had to wear full PPE and respiratory mask because artex contains white asbestos, which is the least deadly but still worth avoiding.
If your beams can take the weight I guess you could board over the ceiling, but the next person to remove it won't know there's artex underneath until it's too late.
You might be able to PVA and then plaster straight over the artex, cheaper and easier than replacing ceiling if you can get a plasterer for 2 days on a day rate.

You never stop in a house, once one things finished the next thing is ready for work, its like a continuous treadmill.
On another note what filter unit and filters do I need to filter my domestic water for our uses? not for the fish just the household, thinking of putting one on my incoming main?
Cheers

When I was even sillier than I am now we just used to convince our selves that the roofs we were taking down were concrete sheets and that a good drink that night would cure us the logic worked in our heads as daft youngens just looking for a extra payday packet

not easy or cheap to filter the whole incoming main, you'd probably need a triple big blue or 30 litre granular with prefilter.
better to just have one small bore drinking water tap and filter that water.
single 10" pod with combination sediment and carbon block cartridge would do that.
even an inline filter
