    Fixing for Coping

Just thinking ahead a bit, but wondered what the options are on fixing coping stones. Traditionally used mortar but think there may be better options so interested to know if anyone has tried alternatives?

fixed my few coping stones with black PU 18 sealant, way stronger than cement.
in fact i'll have a job getting them off later this year...
You don't have to be a pipefitter to keep koi...
    but it helps...

I will be doing mine soon too, I was planning on just using the same tile adhesive as what I'll be sticking the tiles on with (hopefully get some tiles done Saturday weather permitting)
I didn't want to use mortar as worried about the drying time and any run off from rain before fully cured. Also tile adhesive should be a bit easier to control and I wont dump some in the pond hopefully!

Have you got any insulation cut offs tie some string to a cut off and float it under where your working saves out going in pond

Good idea that, but unfortunately not. Maybe I should do it from the inside of the pond on a boat so it falls out instead tho

The real question should be how small is the boat

I'm sure barbie and ken will have a boat, I also think we've steered massively off topic here haha!

Thanks guys, I'm off to buy ken and barbies boat although how that sticks the coping down I have no idea, do I melt it and use the expensive plastic blobs to hold the stone on?

Just been reading this and had to smile to myself, we needed to seal under our coping stones but the fish were back in soooo we bought a child's blow up paddling pool popped it in the pond hubby gingerly got himself into it cross legged complete with the mastic gun. Whilst he used the gun I slowly pulled his 'flotation device' around the pond, exchanging cartridges as we went. Luckily the neighbours didn't see us otherwise they'd have thought we were nuts lol
