Visit to Cascade Koi , Bury
Yesterday , I had a trip to Cascade Koi and Aquatics in Bury .
Now I know Israeli koi are not everyone`s cup of tea , but for those of us who like a bit of value for money , then I`d recommend the place as well worth a visit .
They`ve just returned from a hand-picking trip and have lots of new stock . I have to say , the quality of the fish was absolutely fantastic . The Sanke`s in particular were of a very high standard , one of which I`ve reserved for myself .
The prices ranged from around £150 - £300 for fish in the 14 - 18 inch bracket . I reckon to find better quality , you`d be looking at spending sums into 4 figures on Japanese fish .
Nice , friendly staff also , not too pushy , but there if you needed anything .
Like I say , Israeli koi aren't for everyone , and I`m not looking to start a heated debate on the subject , but if you`ve got a couple of hundred pounds burning a hole in your pocket , give them a go !

Yes , John , they did , but I didn't have look , as I was a bit pushed for time . I`m sure they`ll be good , if the standard of the other fish is anything to go by .
Theres also the Koi Pool in Singleton (nr Blackpool) which is fairly close , if your planning a trip . They do a lot of smaller koi . Generally speaking I`d say the quality at Cascade is superior ,this year , but they're always worth a look at this time of year . if your close by !Colin
