Trashed garden !
Well me and the wife went out today for a couple of hours and returned to this mess !!
The back of the house was quite sheltered so I thought, amazingly the wind had picked up the front poly cover and completely flipped it up and over on itself, luckily landing on the two panels behind it without causing too much damage, must of made a big bang and scared the fish!! it also moved the two poly panels behind it shoving them back by a good foot or so, each panel is damn heavy amazed it did that......as well as this both fences on either side have been wrecked...... more blo-dy money, thats if we can get hold of a fencer anytime soon, they must be rubbing their hands together.....

seems like you had it much worse your end mate.
at least the pond is ok though...
re the fencing,
i thought the rear garden left hand side as you look out is the neighbours responsibility...?
the right hand side would be yours...
having said that, i did both sides as the neighbour isn't that into DIY, and a crap fence would ruin all the work we did on the garden.
i chucked a few odds and ends on my polycarb to hold it down last night.... a bag of sand, some odd rocks, and buckets with water in.
can't wait till spring and it can all come off....

the irony and i posted a thread saying "batten down your covers" and I did not ! jut watched back the cctv and there was a big gust at 12.58 that lifted and flipped over the poly cover panel and flattened the fence in one go, I think because the fence was down on the other side it just blew across with no resistance at all, bloody nuisance this is going to be to put right as my pipework runs along the fence base

My garden isn't much better than yours Steve.
One fence down and the actual (18 month old) wooden panels have snapped so its more than just slotting them back in.
The other fence has moved complete with the posts, I now have around 8" more room down the side of the pond, but have lost 6 inches elsewhere. Fence was perfectly straight when installed, now it looks like rickety.
Pond cover hasn't fared too well either.
Yet I walked down the street looking into people's gardens and they have old rotten fences that are totally unaffected, standing perfectly upright.
Looking at that weather site it looks like this is going to last till around Wednesday.

A bottle each done in fact you can 5 each..... cheers guys but I think I am a tad to far for you guys lol..... I really can do without the expense, Yes John I am hearing you ref concrete posts I think that's probably going to be a good move but they are damn expensive.... one fence is 48ft long the other around 60ft so roughly 18 posts and 18 panels plus post cement etc, biggest headache for me is my new patio was cut quite tight to the fence thinking it was a good few years before I would have to touch the fence and the gap between my tiles and my neighbours raised concrete garden path is so narrow I risk damaging my tiles, bit of a disaster really...I think I might have to cut / grind a few inches off all of my tiles down one side of the patio in order to dig out old posts and concrete in new ones...….

Touch wood up to now our garden is ok. And cover is still on.
But our lasses cafe. Had a new flatroof put on. Last week. Fiber glass. And water just pissed in.
Landing into the toasters. Luckily no one was hurt. Or electricuted. Give the builder his dues. He was around to weight it all up within half an hour.
So hopefully repaired today. Plus need new toasters.
Sorry to hear of your fences. And covers.
And pergola.
Fingers crossed no more damages
Fred
