Queni Koi Winter Event
i'm off to queni koi for their winter event on sunday, after reading the website blog from last year it looks like a good day out.
looking forward to the hog roast too
i'm after a nice showa and maybe a chag or ogon, they've got a lot of fish in just for the event, plus the ones in the japanese open sale.
is anyone from here going?

they have some stunning fish in the open sale, some way over my modest budget.
but they still have a lot of new fish in at good prices, there is one in particular i'm after just hope i get through the door early enough to bag it....

yes what did you buy / did you get the fish you were keeping an eye on ??

unfortunately no,
i took a stack of cash intending to bag quite a few, but came home empty handed...
there were a few fish in the on the day sale i'd had a look at previously and wanted to get, but other people just beat me to them.
it was absolutley mobbed there...
i'd also looked at buying a couple of fish in the japan style open sale,
but after jostling my way round the vats trying to look at the fish and sync them up to the pictures pinned to the sides, i gave up in the end.
i'll just wait and see what lands in the spring.

I went, got there 5 mins after opening thinking it would be quiet then but it was already rammed. It was the first time I've been to one of these events and overall I enjoyed it - free food and drinks was a nice touch. I agree that a quiet and relaxed atmosphere is best for choosing koi and it definitely wasn't like that.

I usually quite enjoy a bit of bargain hunting, like some of the carp fishing shows I've been to.
But buying koi that way is not for me...
I'll pop by in the week and get the bits and pieces I wanted.
And keep an eye out when they get a new shipment in.

All's well that ends well...
One of the fish I quickly looked at in the open sale vats yesterday didn't sell.
and Queni have now lopped another 33% off the 'winter event' price,
from a lot of the remaining fish.
It was a lot quieter today only 2 other people in.
I just couldn't resist it at such a good price, so I popped back today and bought it.
The sumi has a long way to go and it well might end up being quite a dark fish, but that's what i was looking for originally anyway.
Queni have them all recovering in one of the large ponds after being in vats yesterday.
so i'll pick him up in a week or so....
