Blocked skimmer line "SOLVED" woo hoo
SOO Happy today
Skimmer 4 inch line has been blocked since November tried everything nothing worked.
Inspiration today.
Fit a 4" expanding bung at the skimmer box near the pond you need the one with the hole through the middle for pressure testing drains, connect garden hose. Then close valve to sieve and turn on hosepipe. This pumps up the pressure in the pipework to mains water pressure (I get about 2.6 bar) just before the bung blows out wack open the valve to the sieve and boom.
It really gives a good whoosh and about a bucket full of leaves came out in a big lump.
Note to self NEVER remove skimmer basket during autum leaf drop.

Glad its sorted.I bought a drain cleaner hose off Devilbay that connects to my powerwasher..Brilliant for that sort of thing .A good few years ago I blocked my bottom drain run by giving the fish too many orange segments..Oh the joy of sorting that out

A nicely engineered solution mate, well done.
If this was a U.S forum you'd have been telling us how you put dynamite down the pipe, but your solution was much more considered lol.

I had tried everything else including the pressure washer drain hose, this was do or die. I did smirk at my own brilliance...... However if the pipe had blown up it would have been a very different post.
