    So Hypothermia works

So after the lady on the news had a 6 hour cardiac arrest and survived due to the cold is this what saved a fish of mine?

It was freezing out and I plodded down the garden to peer into the pond and check the sieves and there at the bottom of the screen was one of the little buggers, he gone past the dome ?? into the sieve over the floating dam (He was determined) then went flop with the dead leaves.
Thought he was dead then the slightest movement so dropped him back in the pond and he just swam off happy as larry.

No idea how long he had been there but I was truly amazed ain't nature clever.

    Andy

    I have 2 Ultrasieve 3's

One is on the skimmer line and the other on the bottom drain. Skimmer pipework is blocked at the moment......leaves I think I may just have to wait until they break down a bit tried everything to clear it.

Have you tried back flushing the ultra sieve 3 andy.
Same as you do a bottom drain. I do my ultra sieve entry twice a week. I shut the 4 inch ball entry valve from skimmer. Then bale the water out of the entry bay. With a jug. Or my pond vac. If using pond vac i also suck out as much as i can out the 4 inch pipework. Then open the ball valve. And it rushes In. When I have had leaves stuck in there. It's always cleared them after 3 or 4 goes.
    Hope this helps mate

I had a koi go over the weir and didnt survive.
To stop this happening again i cut a piece of plastic egg crate (approx 12" x 8") and made it a tight fit across the weir which then stopped any koi going over again.
Worked perfect as found a couple of little buggers in there swimming around nicely
