    drum not cleaning

Itís been nearly two days now since last clean on my drum the sensor set at highest point Iíve upped the flow as well on my variflow 20000 to 90% flow and water just isnít falling below the float switch sensor it was cleaning regular up until. a few days ago Iíve chevked bypass bungs all seems ok there anything else that could be causing water level not to drop in clean side other than water being really clean that I can check to try and see why itís suddenly stopped cleaning and waters not dropping below sensor

    Have you stopped feeding?
No feed = No solid waste to clog screen is most likely.
Can you see inside your drum screen to see if itís dirty?

I have been feeding. small amount when temperatures were ok only reason I thought something maybe a miss is I put 400 grammes of koi masters advantage in and it usually takes a day to clear and drum comeson quite regular once I first put it in but it didnít clean this time and water as started to clear 4 days after and think uv as cleared that not drum Iím probably worrying about nothing if I was feeding 10 times a day and fish were more active and.it wasnít working then I probably have an issue

Iíd probably say if it was somehow bypassing the seal itíd have to be a pretty serious seal failure.
More than likely no solids to speak of to block the screen which would be understandable.
Iíll go and reset mine later and see how we compare as Iíve stopped feeding now.

    Hi Dave,
Maybe worth checking if it is getting through the seal between the dirty and clean side, bypass plates are ok so cant think of anything else mate other than a hole in the mesh screen

Well checked screen all looks fine as does the seal as far as I can see anyway and sensors working fine so water must be super clean anyway Iíve purged drains and I will just see how things is that seal that goes between drum and inlet to drum easy to replace I presume itís the thick rubber plastic one that sits along bottom of inlet to drum on my queni one it looks like thick plastic that runs along bottom and so far up sides where water goes in from dirty side is it just a matter of pulling old one out and slotting a new one in I hope coz Iím not able to tackle anything harder and technical my brain and memory canít take that there well knackered Iím afraid

    Hi Dave,
I know I said the seal but cant really see it being that to let that amount of flow through.
Switch drum off and try running your finger along the sealing part in case of large muck there or not sealing properly.
I wouldn't go changing the seal yet,I havnt fed for one month and drum goes off between 1 to 1.5 hrs so still picks up muck if not feeding.

Dont know what size mesh the q/k is but maybe quite large ?
    John

First thing i would do is check the pump is working if your clean side level isnt altering.Press the manual flush button to make sure everything is working on the drum

Yeh pumps fine floats working fine just for some reason water isnít getting below float to trigger the clean if shut one of inlets either drain or skimmer comes on straight away itís only just started over last few days not cleaning sensor at highest level water level in drum with pump off level with top edge of waste chute with pump on a few cms down the chute only thing Iíve changed is height of diffuser in bio chamber Iíve raised because it was sat too low and diffuser was far too large 10 inch Iíve swapped that for a smaller one as my pump was drawing in air with air on but thatís ok now sorted that bio is 90 cm deep 60 cm wide and 45 cm deep 2 4 inch inlets 1 2 inch outlet

Can you actually see movement of water in the dirty side of the drum. Also you should be able to see water flowing into the bio

Yes plenty of movement on inlet as for bio I can see water flow with air off yes with pumps on water just below waste chute on drum and flowing in and out nicely bio water level with rim round top that lid sits on with pump off and pond full with pump on it drops so all ok there only thing it can be is water really clean as Iíve checked everything nothing a miss I can see can even see water flowing through screens on clean side when I put mi glasses on ha ha only reason I posted was I put Clay in about a week ago and it usually cleans regular for a bit then settles down but didnít this time I am a proper worrier probably be fine when Iím feeding more just my mate as a profi drum heís not been feeding for weeks and water good but it still cleans he reckoned it was cleaning at least once every half hour Iím lucky if mine cleans once every 4 hours

Agree with Scamp Dave, you must have super clean water so happy days and stop worrying.

One thing you could test, put something in the dirty side to block the mesh maybe some T leaves and if it cleans then all is good.
