Some maintenance in preperation of new filter housing.

After weeks of getting in quotes from 4 different sources I have at last found someone in budget and using materials that I wanted which will be pretty much maintenance free, the rubber roof will need replacing at some point in many years i hope but the remainder of the frame and exterior should stand for some years to come, i have had to move a fence panel and post across a few inches so that a pvc panel can be inserted down one side of the housing it will have a roof that's made up of two flaps to aid weight and ease of lifting, its going to have two front doors one on the left hand side to gain access to the air filter, electric plugs, the skimmer overflow pipe and a pond return pipe, the other door will allow access to the pumps, electrics and main pipes into filter, hoping to use celotex on the inside of the new housing to help with insulation, any how it should help with keeping the frost, wind and rain off the equipment, its quite a tricky bespoke build due to location of the equipment, there is not much room to move and install, i will picture it once built, oh also have had the pergola roof seals redone as its been leaking badly where the two sheets of polycarb meet, the waterproof tape had lifted and failed so now used some silver foil tape as this seemed to take well to the polycarb sheets better than any gorilla tape did, cheers Steve.

Build started today, stud work and frame up, came up against a problem though, my window sill overhangs quite far from below the dining room window, this has stopped the original idea to run some hinges along the front as the clearance would be insufficient which would stop me from lifting out the drum should the need arise, so only one thing to do and thats to cut the sill back, the wife has not noticed yet windows only a couple of years old and we just butchered it, mmmm she wont be happy, obviously going to get this sorted hopefully before she see's it... might be finished by tomorrow night.
