Can see what you are saying Rs and I have heard of his defensive attitude but I have yet to see it meant for myself.
No one is perfect and if it was meant for me you would hear of my reactions, so i am told.
Sorry i started this thread now as i thought it was to enlighten folk of P/W new filter, didn't mean to start any slaging as I dont like that at all.
We are all entitled to our opinions as this is a forum and I would rather see it kept pleasant
P/s.
This wasnt meant for a dig at you Rs.John

Well, changing the topic very slightly but keeping with the subject of Peter Waddington, I just watched this on YT and found it quite interesting.
Taking Sephuk's comment on board about increasing playback speed, this video is perfect at x1.5

Since this thread I've been hooked on the tit for tat videos between James the Koi Whisperer and Waddypete regarding the EPIC filters.
Has anyone been following this saga?
Unfortunately it has got way out of hand now and WP has taken things too far.

ive been subscribed to pete for a while and i unsubbed from both of them yesterday, they both are acting like kids, James got a free filter out of it and still continues to act like an idiot about it, i think the pipe needed to be lower but you would just cut it wouldnt you? if it was too low extend it. It all got a bit boring in the end

Agree it has got silly, and obviously there's been a lot of off-screen activity that led to the style of videos we've seen.
The problem was minor and could have easily been nipped in the bud, but the latest video is slanderous and I think will need taking down before solicitors get involved.
James hasn't done too bad out of it, a company has now offered to fibreglass his pond for free, assume because of the publicity it's all creating.
WP comes across badly and will almost certainly struggle to sell anymore EPICs.

. This is magic. I know James and I know of Peter.
Truth of the matter is nobody was discussing this dated technology filter last month lol
Peter has done awesome things for the hobby all over the world. The progression in the UK because of him is unreal But evolution missed him. His attitude and arrogance is second to none, and that of his female minion.
James is just younger and more volatile, he needs to walk away from this. First person to stop the tit for tat is the bigger man imo.
There was a lot going on behind the scenes. Talks of lawyers if the filter was adapted in any way, advised flow rates of 180 gph turning 10 percent an hour. With James stocking and his pond size that would be crazy. No two ponds are the same. He should of shipped it back and washed his hands of it.
Go on Peters YouTube and go back to the first videos. He attempted comedy sketches!! Now that's the real golden egg in all of this. Finding them lol

That so called female minion is one of the nastiest potty mouthed things I have ever come across as I know both party's in this Pete has fallen out with so many people over the years he is not a nice chap he was bad 30 years back when I new him and he worse now. James is a nice chap but he's been rubbed up the wrong way by Pete off screen you have not seen what's been going on. All he wanted to do was cut the out let pipe off an inch and woddy wobbled off on one and the
female minion waded in like a snapping turtle.

I watched the opening of his new pond video.
Lovely pond and surrounding s
Then I watched the Eric filter cleaning procedure.
If on a water meter it must cost a bomb to clean that out. With the amount of water being dumped. Might have been just for the grand opening. Who knows.
But to me the amount of stuff you have to do. To clean the filter. It's going backwards
In time.
With what equipment is available on the market today. And the cost of it all.
Just does not make sense to me.

Been following both and find it quite entertaining though very childish,James has done well in getting a free filter and now a free offer of fiberglassing his pond and plaques made for him.
Think I will keep my opinions to myself as we dont really want any heated discussions on this forum.John

Speaking generally, I can see why people may form a disliking towards a person, and some of them have direct experience upon which to base their opinion, and they are therefore entitled to see things in that way.
To tell you the truth, though, I find that kind of scenario to be quite sad (in the traditional sense of the word) and unfortunate. So much so, that I actually have some empathy and sympathy.
Why, when, on the surface, a person may seem rather unpleasant?
My reason is that when a person holds very tightly, with white knuckles, to their beliefs; lashing-out at anyone who so much as slightly questions, pokes at, or undermines their assumed solidity in 'fact', it can sometimes indicate that the person might have been traumatised at some point in their life, not uncommonly in childhood. To such people, life is a threatening enivironment and a threatening experience - they may form rigid (and, unfortunately, brittle) belief systems in which to take refuge, find some semblance of 'certainty' and 'security', and to cling to, like a life-raft, amidst the turmoil of life. Others may take refuge in substances, to dull their fear or pain.
For such individuals, it may well not have been their fault that they underwent traumatic experiences, and their reactivity to other people, although unpleasant, may be just a 'hyper-sensitivity' out of sheer terror that their life-raft may be at risk of being weakened by someone else.
If you have a pet dog or cat, that has the most placid, loving, affectionate character, but gets severely injured, if you touch that injury, there is a risk that they may growl and lash-out. The same goes for a similarly placid, loving, affectionate pet that gets psychologically traumatised - they may behave erratically and unpleasantly towards people for the remainder of their life. My neighbour's cat is a precise & intense example of the latter, actually.
I'm not suggesting it is acceptable for a person to behave unpleasantly towards others, but I can genuinely see that there may be underlying reasons for behaviour, which may constitute, shall we say, 'mitigating circumstances', and it's all too easy to overlook these and judge people purely on the basis of their outward behaviour. Who, amongst us, has no flaws?

As for the particular tit-for-tat, being discussed in this thread, I hope both parties step back and take a breather, resolve things privately, and stop posting publicly about the spat, because it's surely obvious that it doesn't serve the best interests of either of them, and it doesn't reflect well on either of them; added to which - life is too short to waste on perpetuating ill-feeling. Surely, the simplest and most amicable solution would be to simply return the unsatisfactory free gift to its point of origin and for each party to amicably go their seperate ways, chalking it all up to experience?Last edited by MustBeSomethingInTheWater; 16-11-2019 at 04:01 PM.
