    Nitrite ready after filter mod.

    Hello,

i have a high nitrite reading, the only thing I have changed is the fitting if an auto top up.
where should this be placed on a nexus, I have mounted this on the inner chamber.
    Ammonia is zero.

    many thanks

    Alan

If the auto top up runs through a dechlorinator you can fit it wherever you want.

If not then you do risk killing your filter bacteria in both eazy section and outer section.

When I ran my nexus I had it in the outlet chamber area that sticks out from the main filter body.
I had no issues with it there.

    Hi ,

thanks for for your responses, I have carried out a 25% water change, hopefully things will look better tomorrow.
What speed should my water be turned over at, I run a 12000 litre pump, the pond is 2800 gallons?

    thanks again

On your size pond I would shoot for a turn over rate of once per hour minimum . On the larger ponds you can stretch it out a little more..

Hi mate . My top up was on the outer suction outlet to pump.
On my nexus. Used 3 pod dechlorinator but was still getting chlorine issues. So started adding ST .

    Hi Mate,
i have a large blue dechlorinator with profiler, I have never suffered previously from either Ammonia or Nitrite, can only think that it is down to the auto top up as I have mounted this in the easy chamber.

i have carried out a 25% water change and will check water parameters again today.

    many thanks

    Alan
