    Bicarbonate of soda will do that and much cheaper too.

    Lol might explain why my kh was using nearly a complete bottle and give me a reading of 100 + drops

    Ive not heard that mate (might be right though), however salt takes time to remove from the pond via water changes as it does not evaporate or get filtered out so bi-carb would definitely be my suggestion. ��������

    I know as salt gets dissolved into the pond water you can use it to work out the true volume of water you have in your entire system as it dissolves into the water at a very specific rate apparently.

    Morning folks.
    on the subject if clay ive heard that some cat litter can be used as a pond clay. Namely the stuff that contains sodium bentonite. Has anybody tried this? 🤔

    fullers earth is often the cheap, scent free clay used in litter. I used a load for the planting up of the marginals on my old pond, a fraction of the cost of aquatic compost
