I appreciate that the above discussion about K1 prices is in relation to secondhand bargains of a Nexus INCLUDING K1, but has anyone tried using Hel-X 13 in a Nexus (in the moving bed)? I would think it'd roll just fine.

I only mention it because some German retailers do a relatively reasonable deal on 100L of Hel-X 13:

    Biocarrier Helix HXF 13 KLL+ Sack 100 Liter Hel-X

I don't know whether shipping costs to the UK might kill the saving, though.

Speaking more generally about moving bed filters, their price on Hel-X bio flakes is relatively good value, too, when compared with (slightly better, but overpriced) Eco Pond chips

    Hel-X Flake weiß 10/25/50/100 Liter

Anyone in the UK, looking to buy 1000L of Hel-X 13, might find their options limited, but I know you can get it here:

    www.koicarp.org.uk/koi_filter_media.htm

Lot of dosh for a cubic metre of plastic media, but I don't know of anywhere cheaper, in the UK.

    I have 200lts of k1 and 100lts of helx 13.
And it rolls good in the nexus. Works well.
