After all the effort he went to to reply to my questions I feel a bit bad for trolling him now!
But still, £1500 for 30 mutts is a blatant rip off (£50 each).
Even KWB were selling Sakai Tosai at 3 for £50 at one point, and the quality was ok.... I still have one in my pond and its a nice Kohaku, albeit a bit stunted on growth with only reaching 33cm at Sansai.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic.
Listed on eBay as a private seller, no business account.
The Only Aqua Planet on Companies House went into administration in 2014.
The eBay listing for the koi mix has been updated from the original one liner. The full text is now their response to the question I asked!

Was being a tiny bit sarcastic maybe. Saw they’d changed the description as well as knock £1,500 off the price. Like you I don’t believe the breeder information for one second

The largest khv out breaks in the last couple of years has been at Japanese koi farms lol.

Yep, another reason to add to my reasons for not wanting to show fish, biggest reason is health risk be hard enough to keep them healthy as it is and I've no intention of taking them out of their home to stick in a vat for a few days, keep them where they're happiest, up to others what they wish to do though and I'm happy to go to shows to see them, hypocritical that though I suppose

Ive just had a read through, not that I would dare purchase any koi from any eBay seller but this seller seems extremely dodgy.
I wonder if anyone's let any of the high profile breeders know about this. then again I suppose it could be a case of "made in japan" but actually produced at coppens lol.

In 20+ years of being interested in koi I've never been to a koi show, just never interested me
I think i've only ever been to one meet up and that was a few years back when this forum did a grow n show at Absolute koi when we purchased Shiro Utsuris.
I was a member of a club once (Flyde and district) but that went defunct years ago
Come to think of it every koi keeper i knew has now packed it all in, most of em after the first big outbreak. Not to read a newspaper makes you uninformed. But to read a newspaper makes you misinformed

Hello mate morning. What I have read on here. People do like them. And as you say most of the oldies on here have now packed in. Shame really as a lot of knowledge now gone.
I remember the absolute koi grow on.
I did nt enter it. As at the time. I had massive problems with NPS. With a brand new pond. And it was probably good meeting at absolute koi. To meet people.
And put a face to a name.
Never been in a koi club.we don t have any in our area.
Good to talk to you mate.
Be safe.

Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
