I must get my Charlie out for a pic at some point. She’s pretty big now but always very hard to guesstimate in the pond itself. She is one of my biggest fish, and still has beautiful scalation and fukurin.
I never used to be a fan of the dark coloured chags, but they are growing in me and I might go for a chocolate coloured one too at some point2016 new 6000 gallon pond

Well I finally got a chag that I have been wanting for a while , I got him from Tim on the forum who in turn got him from James's pond closure last year, I too got some of my favourites from James, so Charlie Chag (yes another one called Charloe) is reunited with some of his previous brothers and sisters
Tomorrow I am picking up another 3 fish from a forum member one of which is a chocolate chag we have named Rolo, so now I will have 2 : D
Here is Charlie (Tim's photo)

And here is Rolo (Richarda Photo)

Some beauts here, missed a lot of this thread so just caught up.
No pond now for me unfortunately (well for now anyway) but the chags are still fine and in the family.
The bigger one has got to be around the 70 mark now so not huge for a chagoi but a fair fish, il get a pic next time im at my dad’s.
I do miss my pond and fish but luckily bar in 4 fish they all went to family members so i still get to see them.

Hi mate, hope alls well.
Strangely i updated taptalk and got a load of notifications come through from the forum. Its funny because i was actually going to pop on.
Ive hung up the net for what will be a long while now mate unfortunately. No koi pond here and unlikely anytime soon. All the fish are are ok though and i get to see them so not all lost.
So to put it short yes, probably a flying visit

Oakly chag I got one last weekend after my visit, good choice mate the generics should see that being a big fish. Adam and Amanda are such nice people I hope the change the way UK people buy Koi from Japanese breed koi parents as the fish will be just a stood without the stress of air freight

Just popped on due to an odd “quote” to one of my posts sending a notification. Looks like there are some new folk in town?
Anyway… came for a look on some of my old threads to reminisce as Unfortunately the bigger one of my Chags passed away last week. Not sure why? Had a call from my dad to say he found it belly up. Shame really, no idea what size she had gotten to either. Even more raw was I had to let my beloved pup go over the rainbow bridge last week also. It has been a very sad time lately.
Hope all you guys are doing well, winters on its way. The nights are drawing in and the temps are dropping. It’s been well over 3 years since I shut down my pond but September into October was always the risky time of year I felt. They want the food in the warm days but then the temp drops sharply over night. Plays a little havoc on the unheated ponds. But I digress, stay well folks. Little memory of Freddy boy too while scrolling through.
