I, I have done everything you said in your excellent video, my pond is set at 24 degrees c , F1 on the controller, F2 is set at 0.5, F3 at 1 and F4 at 0., my heat pump goes off at 24 degrees but does not come back on at 23.5 degrees c., I think the temp goes down to 22 degrees before heat pump comes back on, I have seen these controllers wired with a loop between live and terminal 5 on the controller, I don't want to mess incase I damage circuits in heat pump.
    Any ideas please.
    Regards
    Chris

What mode is your programmer set to on the Dream unit itself. Try setting that to automatic....does that make a difference?

I know now a few people had it set to ‘heat’ on the Dream but I have mine on auto to work properly. Worth a shot before you start fiddling with more circuits.

Do you mean you have a missing controller because someone has removed it and you have no way of switching it on or setting the temperature. Please let me know if that's the case because the controller monitors many internal functions to control how the machine works so you would have to replace the controller and make the correct connections to it. This would require some experience with electronic circuits but I may be able to help if you gave more details.

Yes the controller has been removed . Im wondering if it connects to the 3 wire block on the larger white to the bottom left ?

I'm afraid there isn't enough information in the pictures to say how the controller/display would connect except that the white mains flex doesn't look like original wiring. Could you redo picture 1 to show the top of the main board more clearly? It would help if you could take pictures of it from a few different angles so I can see what's behind the main cable form. Also could you show me where the other end of the white mains flex connects to?

This is a circuit diagram of a typical Dream heat pump and the controller/display board (A2) connects directly main board (A1) and normally would plug directly into it. I can't see and reason why it would need to go anywhere else via the white mains flex unless the heat pump has been modified.

That's a bit more informative Chris. The new picture of the main board shows the socket I was looking for which was hidden by the cable form in the first picture you sent which was why I asked you to take pictures of it from different angles so I could check it was there.

If the new controller is supplied with a three wire plug, it plugs into CN2 which is to the left of the bottom connector on the component side of the new picture of the main board. As a precaution, in case there has been a change in design (doubt it), before you order a new controller board, just check you have this socket on your main board hidden by the wiring and check with Dream that a new controller has a three wire plug.

I can't see the connectors clearly with the cables coiled like that, can you straighten them a bit so I can see where they go? And is that the new controller that has already been supplied by Dream?

I’m afraid that description doesn’t help. I’m trying to help you but I need the information I’ve asked for in order to figure out what has been done to the heat pump.

In the diagram I sent, the controller/display board (A2) connects directly main board (A1) and normally would plug directly into it as shown . I can't see any reason why it would need to go anywhere else via a piece of white mains flex unless the heat pump has been modified. I’m particularly interested in what looks like a connector plug in the middle of the cable from the controller in your picture. It looks to me like a modification to connect it somewhere else via a piece of mains flex so can you please answer these questions I’ve asked before:

    1. Could you show me where the other end of the white mains flex in your first pictures connects to?
    2. In your last picture, I can't see the connectors clearly with the cables coiled like that, can you straighten them a bit so I can see where they go?
    3. Is that a new controller that has been supplied by Dream?
