Fry colours
I’m currently trying to raise a few fry following a flock spawn in my pond and I’d like a bit of a pointer regards fry colouring/types? The fry are about 2+ weeks old now and already it’s evident there’s a bit of mixed bag,I’ve a few very dark/black but mostly pale/yellow or shiny olive green colours, some are starting to show dark patches/patterns.
Generally speaking,Where do I start identifying what could turn into what?
I’ve no particular preference/aim in what I’m looking for, just a choice of 3 or 4 nice fish to keep and a few to give away would do

Hi Dan,like you not too good on this.
Black could be Shiro Utsuri (black and white ) and yellow or orange Kohaku or Sanke.
Sorry not very helpfull,raising a few myself.John

After a month you will have some idea. I would avoid the greys and the browns but it will be a case of selecting a few and then seeing what happens..

Thanks for the replies, I’ll be hanging onto them for a bit longer anyway before I do any type of selection,I was just curious as to,generally speaking, what turns into what.As I mentioned it was a flock spawn onto some brushes so I couldn’t say for definite what the parents are,and also can’t rule out goldfish hybrids either

Just to update this thread,as you’ll see at the start,I wasn’t at all sure what the fry were likely to be,all I knew for sure was one of the bigger koi was involved but had no idea what else.
Turns out I think most of the fish had a turn on the spawning brushes as I’ve ended up with a right mixed bag,goldfish/koi shubunkins and mirror/common carp
