I'm not sure if we set oneof these up for 2013 / 2013 yet.
I'm planning to net/measure/photograph these koi in May 2013.

June 2012 Sizes:
Maruhiro Chagoi 13cm
Yamazaki Hariwake 11cm
Sekiguchi Showa 26cm
Maruhiro Soragoi 23cm
Sekiguchi Showa 31cm

Anyone got any pictures and sizes of some of thier koi from mid 2012 that will be measuring again mid 2013?

Add them in :)

Variety: Don't know, but it's all white, with very few metallic scales?
July 2012 measuring 10cm.
today 39cm.
First picture is from August and very bad, so you will have to take my word for it ;D

Wow that's some pretty good growth rate there.

I can't wait to get mine out and meassured next month to see how well they have done.

Yeah, I'm also a bit amazed myself.

I think mainly I have good growth for two reasons.
My water supply from own water-well is near perfect for growing koi's fast, and I do change quite a lot of water, sometimes 10% daily.
And also the pond temperature is good, between 15-25, no real winter time here.

Playing against me are.
Bad genetics, altitude 700m, low turnover rate.

I'm not sure I will be home to measure in may :S even though I would like.

I bowled one of my older koi last night to take a scrape as the koi are a little less active than they should be so I suspect the start of a parasite infestation.

Unfortunatley I only had time to quickly bowl the prime suspect and do one scrape which came up clean.

On a good note this 6 year old Sanke who came from my dad's pond has put on 8cm in 8 months. Not amazing I know, but it's growing at least and now at 45cm looks very nice in my pond.

I didn't get a chance to take any pictures but agreed with the wife that I will take pictures and measure a few others this evening while I do a few more scrapes.

For comparison.

Red has faded slightly but that's probably because they have been covered for 5 months. Hopefully it will deepen again.

I had various accidents with this koi over the winter time here in brazil, and now it's in a 250 gallon tank because my filtration is being redone.

Today it's 43cm
