Hi all
Looking at replacing the lower pond which is preformed, on a budget so it will be a liner. At the moment water returns to filter from top pond via water fall and leaves existing via side drain.
The plan is to put bottom drain in to return to filter, but the lower pond always collects the scum and floating stuff so I want to fit a skimmer. I have selected the olympic mega as a budget option.
So questions
1. To cut down on cooling in the winter from waterfall I was looking at a portable bottom drain in the top pond gravity to lower pond via mid return but this would have to be on the same side as the skimmer would this be ok.

2. Would it be better to isolate skimmer in winter.

3. Would this gavity line be ok to feed a compact sieve then into my easypod which then feeds my sequence back to top pond via UV.
Head is about 1 meter. To cover pump failure gravity line wuld have an auto isolater valve close on power fail or pump failure.

4. Could I run my tornado from the skimmer line or would it better to pull from BD

Thanks Tony & Sandy.
