    Koi eat lily’s

    Hi every time I plant a lily my koi eat and destroy it, any suggestions apart from the obvious lol 😂

    build a header pond and put it in there

    in my old pond the koi never touched the lily...
    in this one, it got smashed to bits the minute i put it in...

    I used to use plastic mesh, roll it into a tube and zip tie it to hold its shape.
    put this over the Lilly so it can grow its leave without being eaten, once up and grown they don’t seem to bother them as much.

    i have also zip tied plastic media grid across a shelf which also worked sat an inch or two under the water line, this was on a previous pond.

    i haven’t grown any for a few years now as I tend to have more water flow.

    Something like this I guess, which I made for a completely different purpose but would do what you suggest:

    I used a large stainless mesh waste bin,
    However I've seen landscaping messh cubes that looked like they worked really worked well

    i will be going down that line next as the cheap, even tool station have em in stock
