filter upgrade
Hi All
I am in the process of replacing my easy pod to a nexus 300,how long can the pond run with out filtration ?,the pond has air and 1.50m deep 3m square 8 koi 12 others

You'll probably get away with up to a day at this time of year due to the excess ammonia etc being produced.
Are you using the mature media from your old filter in the new one?

Thank you for your reply,yes the old media will be used,i think i can swivel the easy pod around the bottom drain pipe and extend the output pipe to the pump to give me room for the new 300 filter installation and remedial pipe work and change over will only be a few hours.

I would move the eazy pod out of the way and just pump water through just to keep the media healthy.
If you plan to do it this way theres no pressure to botch things to get it going if things don't quite go to plan.
Running heater at low temp?
Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
