First post from Suffolk
Hi all,
I've been reading plenty of posts on here for the last few months and thought I'd better say hello. I really like the idea of building a pond at some point, so have been looking through the build section alot. There are some very impressive ponds !
Anyway, I'll keep reading and hopefully learning before I start with the inevitable questions.

Hello welcome mate. Great hobby.
Do a lot of research. And keep asking the questions.
And go and see some ponds in your area if you can. Just post where you live.
Like myself Hull. And some one may invite you round to see there setup and give you some ideas.
Enjoy mate.

Evening. I don't mind doing plenty of research as its interesting. Theres so many variations and ideas for creating a pond. Someone has already offered a pond viewing so depending on location I might take them up on the kind offer. I think seeing a working pond at some point is a good idea.

Covering the pond with polycarb should be enough to stop water temps dipping below 6C for the most...
