Yes very much so Craig, how many gallons is your pond ?

its 2900 gallons but I think if I take the water right to the top I could just about make 3000 but that does leave the water level about 1 cm from the top.

Morning Steve, presume you were asking Craig's dimensions but I will give you mine.
4x3mtrs 4ft deep 3000 goals not big but big enough for me.
Bottom drain and skimmer to drum, two exits one to bio and one to shower with two pumps.
Most on here are changing to drums, awesome bit of kit and ths best thing I have bought, water clarity is fantastic and no cleaning.
There are loads out there at different prices.
    John

Hi mine is just over 15 foot long 10 feet wide and just over 4 foot deep (cant remember exact) I am running a filtreau 30000 drum filter with an econo bead 60. 4 inch bottom drain and 3 inch skimmer to the drum. variable 30000 pump feeding the UV and 2 x 2 inch returns and a variable 20000 feeding the bead and again returning via 2 x 2 inch returns.

I have had a few issues with my drum but touch wood at the moment it is running perfectly and the water clarity is Chrystal clear.

First thing Steve is to get your pond size before any filters.
Bottom drain and a skimmer is a must look at some pond builds on here to give you ideas whether you want a raised or in ground formal or natural pond.

    Hi John,

it will be above ground with a viewing screen, i have 4 grandchildren to 3 years old so hopefully looking through the window will reduce their thoughts of trying to look in from above and falling in, dimensions will be 3m x 2.4m x 1.3m, that's the max i can go to, my garden does not allow any more space.... i am looking at a bottom drain gravity set up with a drum set up.... thats the plan at the moment, having a porch built this week will take a few weeks to complete so need to wait for that to be finished, once done i can get the pond preparation underway so using this time to gather information, all the best Steve.
