    Hi newbie here from Devon

    Hi all.
Im looking at getting my first Koi.
I dug a new pond in my garden and was intending to just put in gold fish, but the Koi are lovely fish and would love to have a few.
I will be asking lots of questions and getting some much needed advice.

Welcome and ask away mate wonderful people on here always helpful . You say you have dug your pond what size have you gone for . I was always told there are 3 types of pond and you need to know what you want in it first before you can build . Wildlife goldfish and koi ponds a koi pond can be home for all 3 but a goldfish pond wont be any good for koi if that makes sense

    Thats is my pond.
6m long 3m wide at the closest end and 1.5m wide at the furthest end.
1.1m deep in the middle. 800mm deep at the far end and coming up to 600mm this end.
At the moment I have a 10000 l/h pump and a filter with U/V light. This exits through a 900mm waterfall.
Im planning on 3 Koi and about a dozen goldfish for now.
do you think this will be suitable?
Looking forward to sitting down after and having a good read.
